Effective May 2010, we will need a Youth
Worker to lead and support the youth and young adults of our congregation. This is a part-time position that will
average 12 hours per week. Approximate
salary starting at: $14.31 per hour.
Principal
duties would include:
Ø
teaching
Sunday School to Junior and/or Senior High Youth
Ø
providing
leadership and planning of Church youth and young adult programs
Ø
providing
pastoral care to youth as required
Ø
occasionally
assisting the Minister in Church Services
Ø
involvement
in Presbytery youth work and training
Ø
maintaining
a connection between the congregation and it’s youth and young adults
Qualifications: The
successful candidate will have a knowledge of and interest in youth programming
and past experience/participation in related youth programs. Experience in
leadership within the United Church and adherence to United Church standards
and theology are essential. Related
coursework or experience in pastoral counseling and knowledge of United Church
resources and theology would be definite assets.
