SUNDAY MORNING VOLUNTEER TEAMS – WE
NEED YOU!
Sunday Morning
Volunteer team members help to make our Sunday morning worship a welcoming and
meaningful experience.
Team members:
- Share their gifts of hospitality
and caring by welcoming friends and newcomers to the church on Sunday morning.
They greet/usher; collect the offering; hand out the bulletin and Morning
Glory, answer questions and provide information at the welcome desk; prepare
and serve coffee before worship in the library and after worship in the gym.
- Welcome the opportunity to share
their faith, gifts and abilities by participating actively in Sunday morning
worship. These volunteers lead hymn sing; light the candles; read scripture;
lead the community prayers.
We have
five teams, each with a leader, some regular members and some spares. Each team is on duty for
one month, twice a year.
Each
person on the team chooses the dates and tasks that they are comfortable with
during a meeting with the team leader prior to duty month.
WE URGENTLY NEED 5 – 10 PEOPLE TO ENHANCE THE
EXISTING TEAMS (1-2 FOR EACH TEAM).
If you feel called to help with this ministry and
your name is not already on one of the team lists posted in the narthex, please
–
1.
Talk to Marilynn Brodie, Coordinator of the Sunday AM
Volunteer Teams.
2.
Sign the sheet in the narthex.
Marilynn will add your name to one of the teams that we know needs more members
and will let you know what team you are on. The team leader will contact you
when it is time to schedule your duty month.
A Book of
Voices from a
surprising range of ages and backgrounds (Canadian Forces chaplains, youth,
ministers, UCW members) are united in a common theme in this book. Although the
contributors reflections are based on scripture
passages that span the Bible and life experiences that span the globe, each
devotion calls readers to listen with their hearts and hear the voice of God in
their listening. Cost of the paperback, approx. $12.95. The book is also
available to download to PC, tablet, or reading device, from www.ucrdstore.ca Watch for gatherings to
share insights and responses.
