Activities
Besides the regular worship services, there are many other activities taking place at Knox-Metropolitan. Notice of upcoming events is given each Sunday in the Church Bulletin in the “Morning Glory”, the Knox-Metropolitan newsletter which appears together with the Bulletin.

Regularly scheduled activities include:
• Senior Choir
This exciting group is a Knox-Met institution--an adult SATB choir which leads music in Sunday worship, sings anthems in a variety of styles, and performs a major choral work with orchestra each spring.
New members are always welcome! Practices are Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Chancel Ringers
This dedicated bell choir meets Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. throughout the year and participates monthly in worship services.

Wonder Cafe
Sunday mornings are a time for gathering, meeting others and keeping connected. The library, located off the narthex/lobby,
is a welcoming place prior to Sunday morning worship, where there will be coffee, seating, books to browse through, and an opportunity
for conversation before the service. Come on in and stay connected! WonderCafe

Your church library is located off the narthex/lobby, with a wide selection of material on theology and spirituality, as
well as an array of children's books. Browse or borrow on Sunday mornings.
There are other activities which happen as seasonal or special events, and are announced as they occur. Some of these are:
• Christmas Dinner - Sunday December 13, 2009 after service
Join us in the gym for this time of fellowship as we share a delicious meal. Head chef Meheret Worku and her team prepare a festive Christmas dinner
with all the trimmings! A collection is received, with proceeds going to "Eye of the Horn".
• Women’s Retreat, usually just after Easter
• Service for Special People;
One of Knox-Met's long-standing and vital community outreach projects, we offer services and a meal twice a year for homebound seniors and those in
local care centres. Volunteers are always needed to support the many tasks involved, which include shuttling, greeting, helping out in the kitchen,
and even some post-meal entertaining! This event occurs in September and May.
•Church Picnic/Neighbourhood Sunday, usually in June
•Rummage Sale, usually in September
•Comfort and Joy Women’s Day, usually in November
•The Gathering Choir
An ad hoc choir, normally gathering informally on specified Saturday mornings to learn a piece of contemprary music to be sung in worship the next day.
The next scheduled rehearsal date is Saturday November 14 at 9:15 a.m.

•9th Street Players
Knox-Met's resident drama group interprets the word of God through short dramatic scenes in worship several times
throughout the year, and presents a major secular production annually. Meetings are announced in The Morning Glory.
